Those sinister motives, problems highlighted in lyrics, depression, dark atmosphere…But now many fans are indignant because today new songs do not correlate to the original style. What do the band members say about this?
Justin Furstenfeld, leader and song-writer of Blue October, confess that they really change the style. But not for purpose. He usually write songs based on his own personal life. The father-of-three has overcome his alcohol and drug addiction, and despite battling against his depression and anxiety he is now living a clean, sober life. Throughout his entire music career he has always been so open about his personal life and has taken fans on a roller-coaster ride of highs and lows, showing off his vulnerable side by addressing his darkest of moments.
However the singer reassured that his new release might have a more sinister edge (he means the forthcoming album at whole). He confessed that his new material won’t be about “Justin’s problems” but instead will focus on what other people with addictions are going through.
Besides the band The band are set to release a documentary later this year that has follows Justin’s path to sobriety over the past five years.
